Queries and Submissions
We are a small, start-up press,
and because of financial practicalities, we only enter into a contractual
relationship with authors who have a completed manuscript. Whether your
manuscript is completed or not, you can approach us with the concept, the
format you have established, and your experience. Let us know why you are
passionate about your expertise and how it benefits others.
Initially, we prefer you contact us by email. Submit your inquiry
to info@ringingbellpress.com. Please do not send attachments, as it is our
policy not to open or download attachments unless requested by us. Keep
your inquiry short and simple. Skip the preliminaries and get right down
to the core of what your expertise is and how it impacts the lives of
others. We are also interested in your ideas of marketing the book, how
and where your audience can be reached, and how you define your audience.
If we suspect your topic is a good match for us, and we have the
capability of accommodating the production within 18 months, we will
request you mail the manuscript. If your manuscript is not yet finished,
mail the completed portion of your work; along with an outline detailing
what is not yet finished. Because our time and resources are limited, any
manuscripts we receive that we have not requested will not be read and
will be destroyed. Our business format is tweaked to give both the author
and the publisher the maximum revenue benefits. Once we have entered into
a contractual agreement and the book is published, we can make
arrangements for you to order quantities of your book at wholesale prices.
You are free to sell your book to your clients and keep the mark-up costs.
Our business model is set up to first cover all expenses and costs
involved in the publisher's packaging, production, marketing, and
publishing of the book. Thus we reserve profit sharing with the author
until our expenses have been met through book sales. Once that objective
is reached, our goal is to give the author a higher percentage of the
book's ongoing profits than is currently offered by other publishers.
